Tiff Young, CYT-200, is the Associate Program Manager of the Mind-Body Program at the Osher Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Tiff was drawn to the integrative health space after developing her own yoga practice amidst her search to find a movement practice suitable for her own chronic conditions. With this newfound passion, she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2021.

“Through my training, I discovered my dharma statement, or life-purpose statement, which is, ‘I exist to radiate my love, magic, and support to both the brightest and the darkest parts of all beings.’”

In her administrative role at the Osher Center, Tiff manages the logistics, program development, and communications for the Mind Body Program, which is comprised of clinical group visits and rotating movement classes. These groups  support patients throughout their healing journey by strengthening the mind-body connection and coping skills, as well as providing a supportive group environment. She also assists with general center operations, such as newsletters, staff training, and marketing materials. “My favorite aspect of my job is advocating for and empowering our patients through the path of their integrative health plan,” said Young.

Tiff is also in practicum with the renowned Vanderbilt Health Coaching Program. This program is typically reserved for health professionals, but an exception was made so that Tiff could participate in the program, and it proved to be invaluable for her work in healthcare administration. “The skills I’ve gained from the program have guided me to truly listen and hear patients, which has led me to serve our patients from a place of groundedness and understanding,” said Young.

Tiff is involved in Osher Collaborative committees and groups, including the Administrative Committee, Planetary Health Working Group, and the Yoga/Meditation Special Interest Group. In her personal time, Tiff volunteers with the Citizens Climate Lobby, a nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy climate change organization focused on national policies to address the national and global climate crisis. “It feels meaningful to be part of something bigger on a national and global level, while also serving the people of middle Tennessee.”
