National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Board of Commissioners Elects Dr. Iman Majd as New Chair

Dr. Iman Majd, the clinic director for the UW Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, has been elected as the new Chair of the Board of Commissioners for the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Dr. Majd is the first MD to hold this position. He is also an NCCAOM board certified acupuncturist, having received his Master of Science in acupuncture from Bastyr University. Established in 1982, the NCCAOM’s mission is to assure the safety and well-being of the public and to advance the professional practice of acupuncture and Oriental medicine by establishing and promoting national standards and credentialing of acupuncturists.
