Osher Center neurodevelopmental pediatrician and Medical Director, Sanford Newmark, MD is one of the medical practitioners featured in the new book The Other Side of Impossible: Ordinary People Who Faced Daunting Medical Challenges and Refused to Give Up. The book, written by New York Times journalist Susannah Meadows, was released May 2, and is already the #1 book in the category of Healing on Amazon.

The book chronicles several families who navigated their way through difficult, sometimes “incurable” health challenges, with the help of integrative medicine, including her own family’s experience with a son with juvenile idiopathic arthritis. In Chapter 12, “Trusting Her Son: Amy and Jaxon Chan Take on ADHD with Diet,” the Chan family’s journey is chronicled as they try to address Jaxon’s ADHD diagnosis in a more natural way than medications.
