The 2018 Annual Meeting of the Osher Collaborative was hosted by the Karolinska Institutet Osher Center in Stockholm, Sweden. In attendance were core leaders from each of the seven Osher Centers for Integrative Medicine, including members from our newest Osher Center at University of Washington. The Osher Collaborative members were joined by Bernard Osher, Barbro Osher, and Mary Bitterman, of The Bernard Osher Foundation.

The productive meeting advanced efforts from program-based Working Groups to propel forward collaborative projects to a new level of cross-Center engagement. Members and Centers strengthened meaningful connections, shared visions for each Center’s integrative medicine programs, and openly exchanged ideas to grow our shared possibilities for the future.

The Karolinska Institutet Osher Center hosted a Festschrift symposium on Anthropology and Medicine at the Nobel Forum for Lisbeth Sachs, the Swedish social anthropologist, to honor her contributions to the field of medical anthropology as well as the development of the Karolinska Institutet Osher Center’s values around the patient-health care encounter. The Osher Collaborative also had the opportunity to explore clinical research on pain, stress, and sleep with close collaborators of the Karolinska Institutet Osher Center at Gustavsberg Primary Health Care Center.
